2018 - 2019 SPORTS PAGE!


At Crab Lane, we appreciate the contribution of Sport and P.E. to the health and well-being of our children. We aim to provide a broad range of high quality extracurricular sports activities for children to engage in and enjoy.

Sports on offer for children at Crab Lane include Football, Rugby, Basketball, Hockey, Cricket, Boxing, Rounders, Gymnastics, Dance, Athletics (indoor and outdoor), Swimming, Tennis, Badminton, Netball and Handball.

As a member of both the Youth Sport Trust and the Manchester Schools P.E. Partnership, we attend and participate in a range of competitions and festivals with other schools from our local area. As well as this, we offer a range of sports clubs during break time, lunch time and after school which are highly popular with children of ages ranging through the school.

Greater Manchester Go-Ride Finals
This week Crab Lane attended the Go-Ride finals at The East Manchester Academy. Taking place on their amazing purpose built track. We managed an amazing 4th out of every school in Manchester. A fantastic achievement Crab Lane. Well done!

Go-Ride Tournament
Another fantastic evening for Crab Lane who won their Go-Ride tournament at Our Lady’s. Now onto the City-wide finals in July. Well done team!

Crab Lane’s Hockey team took part in the North Manchester schools Hockey tournament this week. A fantastic event with lots of goals & action from our team.

Gymnastics Key Steps Tournament
This week Crab Lane attended the Greater Manchester Gymnastics Finals at the Manchester Institute of Gymnastics. A fantastic venue and some brilliant work from our gymnasts. Amazing work!

Crab Lane Basketball
Crab Lane attended the first of two basketball leagues this week, putting all their hard work from the Autumn Term into action. They played some fantastic basketball and had some really good results. Amazing!

Crab Lane Girl's
Football Team
This week, Crab Lane girl's football team was invited to Manchester City Football Academy to take part in their community tournament. Teams from all over Greater Manchester were present and the girls did us proud on a beautiful winters day.
Well done girls!

 


Year 4/5 Football Team
Our Year 4/5 football team attended the second round of their football fixtures this week, facing schools from all over Manchester. A superb effort and some fantastic results for Crab Lane, once again doing a fantastic job representing our school.

Mini Tennis Tournament Finals
On Monday 3rd December, Crab Lane headed to the Greater Manchester mini tennis finals, after winning the North Manchester competition. The city wide finals were well attended with teams from all over GM. We came up against some really tough opposition but Crab Lane did
our school proud.
Amazing effort!

North Manchester Indoor Athletics Tournament
On Tuesday, children from Year 6 represented Crab Lane at the North Manchester Indoor Athletics tournament. Each of them had to take part in a variety of track and field events, competing against a large number of schools from our area. They were amazing and did our school proud. Well done Crab Lane!

Mini Tennis Tournament
On Monday 6th November, Crab Lane took children to compete in the North Manchester Mini Tennis tournament at Abraham Moss. The children were amazing and finished 1st, winning the whole event! They now go on to the City Wide finals in early December.

Hockey Tournament Week
During the last week of term, years 4 to 6 had their end of term Hockey tournaments. They broke down the fundamentals of the game week by week and put this all together during their games in their final lesson. Well done to all involved and especially the winning teams!

2018-2019 Football Season
This week, Crab Lane competed in their first football tournament of the 2018/19 season with Years 4 and 5 travelling to the Football and Tennis Centre. Crab Lane played some fantastic football and did our school proud. The results were as follows;

Lunchtime and After School Clubs
Our Lunchtime and After School Clubs have started this week, Thankyou to children and parents for your interest. Year 2 made a great start to Multisports Club with a game of Rollball, a fantastic mixture of Handball and Goalball.
