For World Book Day in Year 6, lots of children became 'Rotten Romans' from the Horrible Histories series. We explored the life of Boudicca, and wrote a character description from her final battle as Queen of the Iceni tribe. We were impressed with how organised the Roman army were and this ultimately led to Boudicca's defeat. Then we looked at Roman art work and created mosaics of key battle items. The larger the mosaic in a Roman household, the more wealth you were seen to have. Mosaics really were the status symbol of the Roman era!
