Crab Lane Primary School

Thought for the Week - I think for myself and make smart choices that are good for me.

Year 1C 2021

In maths, we have been learning how we can sort objects. We can sort them based on lots of different things, such as their colour, their shape and what sort of item they are. We worked as a class to sort items and then worked independently in the challenge areas to do some sorting.

Can I understand and express
characters’ feelings?

Today we listened to the story ‘Be Brave Little Penguin’. We took on the role of Pip-Pip to show what he was thinking and feeling. We then completed our thought bubble writing.

Year One were lucky enough to have a special visitor in class a few weeks ago.
Neil was a pupil at Crab Lane during the 1950's and kindly visited us in school to help us learn more about the History of our school. Year 1 prepared some questions ready to ask Neil and we used oracy skills to ask Neil the questions. We learnt lots about what Crab Lane was like in the past and compared it to now. We talked about the uniform, the lessons and how the school looked in the past compared to now. Neil kindly shared some photos from when he was in Crab Lane and we really enjoyed learning about the past.
