KEVIN'S MAGIC CIRCUS COMES TO TOWN

170 children received their Privilege Card Award for great behaviour from
the previous
half-term.

To reward these children, Kevin's Magic Circus came to Crab Lane, where the children and adults enjoyed a variety of activities to perfect their circus skills.

This week, the circus was in town and for one and a half days only, Crab Lane hall was transformed into a fun-filled travelling
circus show!

The circus event was booked as a reward for the many children who earned at least 28 of their 30 reward stickers last half-term.

Throughout the half-term, children earned different rewards - certificates, pencils and postcards home - building up to the Privilege Reward for those children whose behaviour and attendance has been excellent all half-term.

170 children were able to access the Privilege Reward and they wowed us with their plate-spinning, tightrope-walking, bike-riding skills! Everybody thoroughly enjoyed the day.

There will be another privilege award at the end of this half-term, so make sure your behaviour is immaculate!

What will the next Privilege Reward

hold in store for us?

FEBRUARY PRIVILEGE AWARD FEBRUARY

Our February Privilege Award was an exciting visit from an artist called Paul Pickford on Monday 12th Feb. We took part in Lowry based art workshops and we created some fantastic art!

Here is what each group did:

Year 1 used their drawing skills, holding a pencil, shading for effect from 1 D to 3D, class together drawing Lowry's "Going to the Match" 1953.

Year 2 used drawing and cutting skills. Looking at the distinctive shapes of buildings and cutting them out to build up landscapes in groups then making rubbings using graphite sticks.

Year 3 Painted a scene using sponges and stencils to create a smoggy industrial landscape.

Year 4 produced 2D linear perspective drawing, drawing skill to give depth to a scene and create focal point for narrative of image, industrial terraced street.

Year 5 painted a scene using sponges and stencils to create a smoggy industrial landscape.

Year 6 made a 3D pop-up industrial landscape.
