'Where we belong, aspire and succeed'

Winter Fayre 2018

A BIG THANK YOU!!!

Dear Parents/Carers,
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all parents/carers for their contributions to what was a very successful, first Winter Fayre at Crab Lane. We were overwhelmed by the donations made by families and your support on the day meant that we made a grand total of £2006.40.

The children really enjoyed creating the wonderful products for the stalls, meeting our special guest ‘Father Christmas’ and singing in the choir. Well done to all the families who were lucky enough to take home a hamper from the raffle, we hope you enjoyed these over the Christmas period! We hope you enjoy the photos below.

The money will be spent on enhancing our trips and visits budget and subsidising our reading scheme with some new books. Any donations that were left after the Fayre were given to a local homeless shelter and a hospital dementia ward.

A special thank you to Kirsty Gregory for her beautiful cakes and Toni Shannon for donating the ice staking voucher from Our Lady’s high School.
We are looking forward to making this an annual event and will make sure we have more hot dogs next time!

Yours Sincerely,

Miss Harrison

Assistant Headteacher

In our mixed curriculum group, we enjoyed creating hama bead decorations. We followed templates to produce colourful baubles and then used our imaginations to design and make our own creations. From Christmas trees, to gingerbread men, to unicorns, we produced a multitude of decorations and we were delighted with how many were sold!

In Miss Stoker's mixed curriculum group, KS1 children used their very own finger prints to make some incredible Winter designs on their cards. These ranged from penguins, snowmen, reindeers, cheeky elves and robins. The children not only designed their own cards but practiced for a significant amount of time to get them neat enough to sell.

In Year 6, we created our fabulous seasonal calendars, using a range of skills including quilling, sketching, and painting.

A mixed group of Years 1, 2 and 3 came along to make Pompom snowmen! We had to work hard as it took quite a long time to get our snowmen heads and bodies made, then we had fun making a face and a scarf using colourful felt.

It was worth the effort as the finished snowmen looked fantastic and sold out at the Winter Fayre very quickly! We also made gift tags and felt very proud of all our efforts. Mrs Buckley

The fayre stall was bustling and we were all delighted to sell every single card! We all hope they brought the same amount of enjoyment to their reader as we had making them!

Year 3L made some Christmas Winter stockings! We took time to sew them and decorate them. Then, we filled them with delicious chocolate.
Yum! They sold out very quickly!
